Compassion

We are all different. Don’t judge, understand instead.

Roy T. Bennett

All I ever wanted was to reach out and touch another human being not just with my hands but with my heart.

Understanding and imaginatively entering into other people’s feelings, understanding where your rights end and someone else’s begins. Giving to the world what we were lucky to receive because happiness never decreases by being shared; having the ability to consider the perspective of others, seeing things from his/her angle, and demonstrate the courage to be consistently fair. Guess what? Scientists have started to map the biological basis of compassion showing that when we feel compassion, our heart’s rate slows down, we secrete the ‘bonding hormone’ oxytocin, and regions of the brain linked to empathy, caregiving, and feeling of pleasure light up, making us feel better.
